Instructions

  • Recite rhyme  “Up Down Turn Around” and do the actions by following the video demo

 

Up, down

Turn around.

Touch the sky,

And touch the ground.

Wiggle fingers  

Wiggle toes

Wiggle shoulders

and say "hello"

 

Up, down

Turn around

Touch the sky,

And touch the ground.

Pat your belly

Blink your eyes, 

Blow a kiss, 

And say “good-bye

Simplify

Encourage the child to memorize the fingerplay - Begin in sections. Remember that memorization is an important skill. Some children need minutes to memorize while others it may take a week or more of everyday practice. 

Up, down

Turn around.

Touch the sky,

And touch the ground.

When this section has been memorized, add the remaining part

Wiggle fingers, Wiggle toes

Wiggle shoulders

Say "hello"

When the child has memorized this verse, let the child give a "performance" for the family and recite the fingerplay for everyone. 

Encourage the child to memorize the second verse.
