Listen to song "10 Crunchy Carrots"; Practice recognizing and writing # 8
- Listen to song “10 Crunchy Carrots”
- Shuffle a deck of playing cards
- Ask child to remove all of the number 8 cards and place in a pile (4 cards)
- Continue with removing all the 7’s, 6’s, 5’s, 4’s, 3’s, and 2’s placing each in their own pile
- Practice writing the number 8, using a chalkboard with white chalk, piece of paper, or outside on the sidewalk
Writing the numeral 8 can be done by writing an upper case S, beginning at the top and when the S is finished connect the bottom and top of the S. Here is a link to youtube that shares how to write the numeral 8
