Tea Party
Host a small tea party with friends
Instructions
- Having tea with a friend is a custom in many countries
- Gather friends/family and make tea (T)
- Select green/white/herbal tea and hot water
- Most teas brew 3 to 4 minutes after placing tea leaves in boiling water so let child watch as the brew becomes deeper in color; you can dilute with water for children
- Add milk, sugar or honey if desired to tea - be careful with temperature of the tea
- Utilize good manners while serving tea, asking what kind of tea and what they would like to add to tea
Extend
Together find the country of China on a map or globe and share that this is where drinking tea and growing tea leaves started a long time ago.

- cups for serving tea

(Activity 11 Month 11)
There was a little turtle who lived in a box.
He swam in the water, he climbed on the rocks.
He snapped at a mosquito, he snapped at a flea, he snapped at a minnow and he snapped at me.
He caught that mosquito, he caught that flea, he caught that minnow, but he didn’t catch me.
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep
(Activity 19 Month 11)
Now I lay me down to sleep.
I’ll count these hands instead of sheep.
Help me to remember these friends I made.
And all the wonderful times we played.
