Tea Party

Host a small tea party with friends

Month 11 · Activity 17 ·   Cooking  

Instructions

  • Having tea with a friend is a custom in many countries 
  • Gather friends/family and make tea (T)
  • Select green/white/herbal tea and hot water
  • Most teas brew 3 to 4 minutes after placing tea leaves in boiling water so let child watch as the brew becomes deeper in color; you can dilute with water for children
  • Add milk, sugar or honey if desired to tea - be careful with temperature of the tea
  • Utilize good manners while serving tea, asking what kind of tea and what they would like to add to tea

Together find the country of China on a map or globe and share that this is where drinking tea and growing tea leaves started a long time ago.
