Drawing (Small Motor)
Developing finger dexterity for handwriting and matching skills
Month 2 · Activity 21 · Physical Activity.
Instructions
- You will need a crayon, piece of paper, and five sets of matching objects (raisins, paper clips, pennies, lego piece, etc.)
- Place one set of objects apart on the paper
- Ask the child to draw a line to connect the two objects. For example, can you please draw a line between the two paper clips?
- Place another set of objects on the paper and ask the child to connect these matching objects by drawing a line
- Continue until all five sets of objects are connected with a line drawn by a child
Simplify
Begin with only one matching set to draw lines between. Use a different set of two matching objects and review again how to draw a line to match up the objects.
Extend
Fill the blue sheet of paper with the five-set of matching objects all mixed up. Ask the child to draw a line between the matching objects without moving any of the objects
