Dairy Tasting Days

Instructions Printer-Friendly

This month have a variety of Dairy Tasting days

  • Discuss and compare the different tastes and textures of milk products: 
  • cow, almond, soy, coconut or goat milk, 
  • skim, 2% or whole
  • cottage cheese, sour cream, yogurt, buttermilk, cream
  • butter or margarine
  • chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry-flavored milk

*Be aware of milk allergies and adapt appropriately!

Simplify

Each day try a different taste of dairy food. Let the child explain how it tastes and looks.

Extend

Encourage a child to share all the dairy items they ate today

QUESTIONS FOR CHILD

Would you like to live on a dairy farm? What animals would be living on the farm with you?

Name a food you don't like to eat and why you don't like that food?
