Reviewing #5
Reading "Sheep In A Shop", connecting dots and counting to 5
Month 6 · Activity 7 · Numbers
Instructions
- Read "Sheep In A Shop" by Nancy Shaw or Read/Listen here
- Draw five dots spaced out on a piece of green paper. Ask the child about the color of the paper.
- Encourage the child to make each of the five dots bigger
- Using the chalk let child connect the dots while counting aloud - one to five
- Ask the child to name five objects that are in their bedroom. For example, a child says a lamp and puts up one finger, then says bed and puts up a second finger, next says book and puts up a third finger, etc. The child will have a finger up for each of the five objects.
Simplify
When placing the 5 dots on the paper, place a numeral under each dot - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. This will aid a child in saying the number while looking at the number.
Extend
Add more dots!
