Making star-shaped sandwiches

Instructions
- Together make a favorite bread sandwich letting a child touch the ingredients and put the sandwich together (cheese, turkey, lettuce, tomato, mustard, etc.)
- Review "S" sound by saying words sandwich and star
- Cut sandwich with star-shaped cookie cutter
- Encourage the child to help with making sandwiches this month and review the "S" sound and cut with star-shaped cookie cutter
- Watch this video to hear a song about the letter "S"
Simplify
Ask your child some questions they can answer with the word "Yes". Reinforce the "S" sound at the end of the word "yes".

Extend
Adapt this game to learn about the letter "S". You will need a plastic snake, some plastic spiders, painters tape, "S" snacks. Let the child repeat: A silly snack likes spider snacks.
