Fingerplay  "Ten In A Bed"

Acting out a finger play

Month 12 · Activity 26 ·   Surprise  

Instructions

  • Have child collect ten stuffed animals/puppets/plastic figures
  • Place the ten objects on the bed
  • Recite the fingerplay together while acting out the actions and removing an object when words "and one fell out" are said 

 

There were ten in a bed and the little one said,  "Roll over, roll over."    

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There were nine in the bed and the little one said,  "Roll over, roll over."

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There were eight in the bed and the little one said, “Roll over, roll over.”

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There were seven in the bed in the bed and the little one said, “Roll over, roll over.”

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There were six in the bed and the little one said, “Roll over, roll over.”

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There were five in the bed and the little one said, “Roll over, roll over.”

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There were four in the bed and the little one said, “Roll over, roll over.”

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There were three in the bed and the little one said, “Roll over, roll over.”

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There were two in the bed and the little one said, “Roll over, roll over.”

So they all rolled over and one fell out.

There was one in the bed and the little one said,  "Good night!" 

Simplify

You can sing beginning with only five in a bed and repeating with four, three, two, one.

Materials

  • ten stuffed animals/puppets OR plastic figures
  • bed - real or make-believe
  • internet song "Ten In A Bed", optional
