Heart Fun

Instructions

  • Ask the child to select the following crayon colors - red, violet, orange, blue, yellow
  • Draw five heart shapes on a large sheet of painting paper and fill in each heart with one of the colors. You will have five colored hearts - one red, one violet, one orange, one blue, and one yellow.
  • The child can draw hearts freehand or use a heart template 
  • Paint (reinforce P sound) with watercolor paint all over the paper and the heart shapes will show through the paint
  • Chat about this method of painting called watercolor resist

Simplify

Choose only one color and draw one heart on the painting paper to use for the watercolor resist painting.
