Month 2 · Activity 19 · Art
Instructions
- Cut out 2 circles from clear contact paper
- One circle is around 4 inches wide and the other is bigger around 8 inches wide
- Staple the circles, sticky side up to a piece of blue construction paper
- Let child guess how many cotton balls it would take to fill in the small circle
- Remove the backing and let the child fill the small circle with cotton balls
- Count the balls and compare to the child’s guess
- Now estimate how many cotton balls it will take to fill the bigger circle
- Remove the back and let the child fill the bigger circle with cotton balls
- Compare to the child’s guess of how many cotton balls
- Have the child point to the bigger cloud
Simplify
Have an adult staple the contact paper to the construction paper and encourage the child to add the cotton balls
Extend
