Sugar vs. Salt

Instructions
- You will need about 1/4 cup of white sugar and 1/4 cup of regular salt
- Place sugar in 1 bowl and salt into a second bowl without child seeing
- Place the two bowls in front of the child
- Ask child to touch the two ingredients and describe how they feel
- Ask child to smell the two ingredients and describe how they smell
- Ask child to carefully shake the bowls and describe what they hear
- Ask child if they think the same ingredients are in each bowl or if they are different
- Ask child to taste the two ingredients and describe how they taste
- Help child understand the meaning of sugar and the meaning of salt by how they feel, smell, sound, and taste
