Review #1-4
Thinking about Numbers
Instructions
- Say a sentence aloud and ask a child how many words do they hear in the sentence
Examples:
- I am hungry. (Ask child, "How many words did you hear?" (three)
- Carly nodded. (two)
- You are so special. (four )
- Continue to make up new sentences with 2, 3, or 4 words
See if the child can create and say aloud 2, 3, and 4-word sentences
Simplify
As you say aloud the sentence hold up a finger for each word in the sentence. The child can repeat the sentence as they hold up a finger for each word.
Extend
Play a game - Making Up Sentences. Write the numbers 2, 3, and 4 on three separate pieces of paper, mix-up, and place face down on a table. One player selects a number and must say a sentence with that many words. Keep taking turns and saying sentences until it is time to end the game.
