Playing frisbee while learning numbers
Instructions
- Using ten small paper plates, write the numerals 1 to 10 with markers on a separate plate
- Have child throw frisbee style each plate around a room or outside
- Ask child to find, pick up and bring to you the plate with the number that you call out - call out four and let child find and bring to you the number 4 plate
- Repeat process and call out 7, 2, 9, 3, 1, 10, 6, 8, and 5
- Trade roles and let child call out number while you pick up the correct plate
Extend
Make another set of ten paper plates. This time write the words for each number - one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Call out a number and let child find the plate with the word for that number OR call out two numbers and see if child can add the numbers together (use objects pennies, straws, etc. to hellp them count and add) Can put letters or colors on plates also. OR cut out pictures of animals, flowers, etc. and glue onto plates and ask child to find specific object.

Ten In a Bed
(Activity 7 and 26)
There were ten in a bed and the little one said, "Roll over, roll over." So they all rolled over and one fell out. There were nine in the bed and the little one said, "Roll over, roll over." So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There were eight in the bed and the little one said,
“Roll over, roll over.”
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There were seven in the bed in the bed and the little one said,
“Roll over, roll over.”
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There were six in the bed and the little one said,
“Roll over, roll over.”
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There were five in the bed and the little one said,
“Roll over, roll over.”
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There were four in the bed and the little one said,
“Roll over, roll over.”
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
