Green
Reading "I Don't Want To Be A Frog" and using green napkins
Month 6 · Activity 8 · Colors
Instructions
- Read the book "I Don't Want To Be A Frog" by Dev Petty or Read/Listen here
- After reading the book, go to each page and look for something green.
- Discuss if the little frog didn't want to be a frog because he was green or for another reason
- Learning a color takes repetition. Use green napkins (paper or cloth) this month for all meals or let the child decorate white paper napkins with green crayon/marker/colored pencil or green stickers. Chat about the color of the napkins at every meal - use different shades of green napkins if available
Simplify
When reading the book, let child put on a green shirt or hold a green item in their hand.
Extend
Play "I Spy with my Little Eye" and find green items
QUESTIONS FOR CHILD
Can you think of other green animals? (snake, grasshopper, etc.)
If you couldn't be a kid, what would you like to be?
