Using a mirror for observation and counting

Month 2 · Activity 7 ·   Numbers  

Instructions

  • Look in a large mirror with a child
  • Point on your body as you say body parts - head, shoulders, eyes, nose, mouth, etc. while child points to his body parts too
  • Ask how many mouths do you have?  Let child point to mouth and see in the mirror
  • Continue with these questions while the child shows the body parts in the mirrow. Ask how many eyes do you have?  How many elbows?  How many hands?  How many heads? How many ears? How many noses?  How many necks?

Use a small hand-held mirror for child to use 

Extend

Go around child's home and count the number of mirrors on the walls
