Reviewing #1-4
Verbal memory game with numbers
Month 5 · Activity 6 · Numbers
Instructions
- Ask a child to verbally repeat aloud sequences of numbers using only the numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4
- Say 2, 4
- The child repeats 2, 4
- You say 4, 1, 2
- The child repeats 4, 1, 2
- Continue with different combinations and see how many numbers in a row child can repeat
Simplify
Begin by asking the child to repeat just one number, for example, the number 4. Next, try giving two numbers to repeat 3 and 1. Now try repeating three numbers 4, 1, and 3. Make sure the child has success in repeating a sequence of numbers before adding more numbers to be repeated.
Extend
Keep adding numbers to be repeated until the child is stumped - do series of four numbers - 1, 4, 3, and 2; then five numbers 4, 4, 3, 2, and 1; then six numbers, etc.
