Circle

Learning to trace and draw circle

Month 2 · Activity 2 ·   Shapes  

Instructions

  • On a sheet of paper, make a CIRCLE shape with dots
  • Have child trace over dots making the circle with finger 2 times
  • Next trace over dots with a pencil 2 times
  •  Finally, trace over the pencil marks with BLUE crayon 2 times
  •  Ask the child to name a body part that is in the shape of a CIRCLE (head, eye, bellybutton...)

Simplify

Have child place his hand on top of adult's hand when doing the tracing of the circle with his finger, pencil and crayon

Extend

Encourage child to make additional circles with fingers, pencil and crayon. Ask child to make a design using only circles.
