Learning to pick one book for story time

Instructions
- Place the three books for the month or any three books in front of your child
- Let him choose one book you can read together now
- Stick with reading just one of the three books as we are teaching choices in this activity
Extend
Chat with child about the one book that was chosen. Ask if there was a reason they picked the book. For example, guide them into sharing an answer...Carly, can you tell me why this is the book you wanted to read now? I like the pictures, OR I read the other book this morning, OR I like stories about monkeys, etc.
Materials
- Pick any three books or use the books from this month
- "Dr. Seuss's ABC" by Dr. Seuss
- "Are You My Mother?" by P.D. Eastman
- "Curious George" by H.A. Rey and Margret Rey
