- Let child color their body adding features and their favorite outfit or what they are wearing now
- This can be an ongoing activity to let a child take pride in making their own image
- Display drawing on a door or another prominent place
Extend
Listen to the words of the song together - "Stand By Me" - and have a discussion about some of the words. Chat about what makes you sad and how do you act when you are sad; can you share something you have cried about; have you ever felt alone; or what is something that makes you angry. What do the words "stand by me" mean to you? Using music to begin a discussion can be a method of sharing feelings that makes sense to a young child.
