Understanding the meaning of fast and front

Month 11 · Activity 14 ·   Target Words  

Instructions

  • Say these words very slow in syllables and have child repeat with a fast voice
  • al  pha  bet;  mov ie;  af  ter  noon;  tri  cy cle;  mu se  um;  fin ger  play; etc.
  • Have the whole family/friends line up in front of a door 
  • Ask child to go to the front of the line 
  • Next, ask child to stand in front of mom, in front of dad, etc.
  • Optional: Activity 1 and Activity 20 in Month 11 also incorporate the use of the word fast

Simplify

Use only two syllable words for child to combine in a fast voice - rock   et; chick  en; num  ber; litt  le; far  mer; sham  poo; fi   nish; etc.

Extend

Use a variety of syllable words - for  get  ful; o  per  a  tion; ex  plain; car  pen  ter; wa  ter  me  lon; com  plete; etc.
