Joyfulness

Listen to song " Joyfulness", finding joyful faces and using scissors

Month 2 · Activity 13 · Character Traits

Instructions

  • Listen to the song "Joyfulness" by Nabil David Huening or watch video here
  • Play song Joyfulness while doing the following activity
  • Write the word Joyfulness at the top of a blue piece of paper.  Make sure the child watches you as you write.
  • Gather magazines and let the child cut out 2 smiling (happy) faces
  • Glue faces on the blue piece of paper
  • If cutting is too hard, can tear out the faces
  • Place finished paper in a prominent spot in the home (refrigerator, child’s door, etc.)

Simplify

As mentioned in directions, let child tear out the pictures if using scissors becomes an issue.

Extend

Cut out as many happy faces as there are people in the family. This encourages a child to think of how numbers relate to objects.
