Snowflake Paint Prints

Teaching the color blue and practicng finger dexterity

Materials

  • white round paper plate
  • doily that fits inside the paper plate
  • blue dot marker (crayons, colored pencils, or regular markers also work)
  • tape or glue stick
  • pencil to write child's name on back of plate

Completion

  • You will need a white round paper plate, paper doily, tape or glue stick, and blue dot marker
  • If a group of children are making the snowflakes, place child's name on back of paper plate
  • Let child tape/glue paper doily in the center of the paper plate
  • Using the blue dot marker let child cover the doily and edges of paper plate with the blue color
  • Allow the marker to dry (it doesn't take long)
  • Using their fingers, let child remove the paper doily and place in the trash to reveal a snowflake design on the paper plate

Children can explore other art/language activities that are located in the bin if they are having fun and asking for more!
