Our Creators

The three of us (Carly, Debi, and Elissa) created the If Not You, Who? website to help adults take an active role in a child's education before school begins. We repeatedly came across research that highlighted how unprepared youth are to begin school, and that this lack of preparation affects students' educational experiences long after kindergarten is over. After studying the data, reflecting on our personal experiences as teachers and students, and listening to countless parents ask us for guidance and ideas, we realized there was a need that was not being met. The question we were most asked by parents with children under the age of five was, "How can I help my child be ready for school?" It's not that parents don't want to help their children prepare for school; it's that they are not sure how to go about it. This website is our response to that need.
